Garibaldi

OH. MY. GOODNESS. The last time I did this hike was in Grade 10 for PE Leadership. I forgot how difficult it was, but I definitely remembered how long it takes. There was still a lot of snow at the top/end and it was quite tricky to maneuver around it. Going back was more difficult as we had to climb up a steep of snow when we were going up… My leg fell into the snow and into the glacier water. Boy was it ever cold!!! Luckily it was super hot so my shoe/sock dried really quickly. It took us about 2 hours 45 minutes to go up and about 2 hours and 30 minutes to go down (for a few of us).

Next time (if there ever will be a next time), I will be more prepared. I did not bring anything but a mars bar and ONE water bottle….. During the hike I was regretting it. When we got there, I guess I was glad. Going down the hike, it felt forever so I started to regret again. On the ride home, I felt relieved I had spent the day hiking with good company! You can see this hike put me on an emotional roller coaster.

yours truly,
