Kept seeing this place pop up on my Instagram newsfeed so I figured I had to give it a try (since I love Korean Food + Corn).
Variety – 7.5/10 : First page is all hot plates that come with Corn + Egg. The options of hot plates are spicy chicken, spicy small octopus, spicy pork, beef bulgogi, or pork bulgogi. Then you can add steamed egg, corn, cheese, fried rice on the side. The other dishes are your typical soups, rice with whatever, bibimbaps, etc.
Service – 9/10 : Service is really good here. They’re always quick to refill your water. The staff seem family oriented? When I was there, about 5-6 staff members were huddled at the corner table eating a very late lunch/early dinner. (I was there around 3:45/4PM)
Taste – 9/10 : We got the Spicy chicken with cheese (corn + egg included) and it was very very good. Cheese is definitely a must since it tastes very delicious with the corn and chicken. The egg is alright ..
Atmosphere – 9/10 : When we came, there were about 3 tables almost finished and only 2 other tables that came afterwards. Once your food comes, you’re supposed to wait about 5 minutes for the cheese to melt and the egg to cook (the liquid-ie looking thing in the photo). But if you don’t need the side options, then dig into the chicken !
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 : The pricing is a little weird in my honest opinion. In the menu, to make it seem not so expensive. The Hot Plates are $14 (per person – fine print at the top). If there’s two of you, you have to order “2” (but it comes as big hot plate) which adds up to $28. Pretty expensive for the little amount of chicken that you get (mixed with a lot of vegetables and other edible inexpensive options). For the cheese, I can buy a bag for $5-6 but at this place, the add-on for cheese is $5 and you only get about 1.5-2 handfuls. I noticed in the other peoples photos that they would have 2 side options (cheese and corn – no egg) so instead of sharing the outer rim with another option, it looks like you get more of the single side option.
Despite the complaints about the odd/expensive pricing, I would probably still come here again because of the taste.
