My first time trying CoCo bubble tea. I didn’t know what to get and I was pretty lazy at looking at the menu so I made my sisters choose for me. They got the original with the pearls. Overall, it was NOT the most amazing bubble tea I’ve ever had. People hype this place way too much. Don’t get me wrong though. It isn’t terrible. The pearls are good, but I’ve had better..
Overall, I would give this a 7.75/10.
Saw this place on one of the buzzfood or narcity or vancitybuzz articles. Then it started showing up on my instagram and it seemed like a place I just had to check out – do it for the gram you know? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Variety – 8/10 – For a cafe, I would say you get a lot of options. There are some unique items you get with your dish (ie: the black bread) so it is a little intriguing … ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Service – 8/10 – You order at the counter when you walk in and then you pick a place to sit. Oh, they give you a number and you’re supposed to place it on the table that you’re sitting at. When the food is ready, they would bring it out to you. If you only ordered drinks, they will be ready at the drinks counter. I don’t think they bring that out to you for some reason. Efficiency I guess?
Taste – 7.5/10 – I was not really enjoying my waffles for personal reasons, but if I was well, I don’t think I would enjoy them any better than I was. Because they were rough/dry and a little bit salty but I think that’s how it’s supposed to be (since my boyfriend got the leftovers and enjoyed it thoroughly…)
Atmosphere – 8/10 – It is like a giant warehouse/garage that had a huge makeover. The walls, the ceilings, a lot of the interior was very creative and nice. A lot of time and effort was put into the decor. It’s a very hipster, cafe, “I’m very coo being in here” vibes – if you get what I mean… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – I think it’s a little overpriced for the majority of the stuff there. I mean, it was like 8 bucks (taxes etc) for 4 small pieces of fluffy PLAIN waffles. I don’t think that’s worth it…
Overall, I would probably still come here again to try their OTHER brunch platters.
I literally googled “top restaurants for birthdays” and this was one of it AFTER I modified the query to have “Vancouver” in it. Originally, the top choice was McDonald’s. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Variety: 8.5/10 – There’s a lot of variety for seafood stuff. I believe there were one or two meat dishes that you can get. You can get basic steak for your entrée but everything else was practically seafood (except for the Beef tartare
Service: 8/10 – The host was quick to help us and seat us. Our server was super nice and friendly. It took some time to get our things or order – possibly because our server was super busy with other tables (it was quite packed). We were thinking maybe the atmosphere or style is supposed to be slow because you’re supposed to enjoy your drinks and scenery?
Taste: 9.5/10 – I am NOT a huge fan of raw food. I probably should have done more research and read the menu properly, since a few of our dishes were rawer than I expected. To my surprise, they were all really delicious.
Atmosphere: 10/10 – The patio is super pretty. The view outside the patio is amazing. You can watch the sunset. You can look at the calm water (ish). The inside is very white/modern/clean look. The upstairs is so elegant-looking. Just magnificent…
Reasonably Priced: 7/10 – Super duper over priced. Very high end. But I guess you are paying for the quality of the food? I don’t think the 6 pieces of sushi rolls was worth $14. Again, I think the fancy setting, atmosphere, service, quality of the seafood is taken into account for the price… *shrugs* ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Overall, I would not come here again but I would highly recommend you come here at least once. If I were to come here again, it would be more to enjoy the scenery/sunset etc. Or if I had rich friends, I would want a birthday dinner here because of the pretty private room they have upstairs. 🙂
Super cute cafe. Looks so small and lame outside, but when you walk inside, it’s one of the cutest little cafes I’ve ever been to! (well, to be honest, I’ve only been to TWO high tea places including this one).
Variety – 7/10 – different finger food but it’s a set menu so it’s not like you’re choosing i think..
Service – 9/10 – they were constantly refilling our tea with hot water so that was nice.
Taste – 8/10 – the bottom tier was my favourite. Everything else was eh .. Top tier was my least favourite.. too sour/tarty
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 6.5/10 – a little overpriced in my opinion but I guess it’s for the “experience”.
Overall, I would not come here again because I would rather try other cafes.

Saw that there was a lot of hype over this place so I decided to check it out. When we got there, it was insanely packed – roughly 12-1PM (prime lunch time – i know). We had to wait about 20-25 minutes to be seated as there were roughly 4 parties in front of us.
Variety – 9/10 – There are pages and pages of things to choose from. Typical dishes that you’d find at Bubble World. Dim Sum options. Rice or Noodle dishes. Single Hot Pot Dishes. They got bubble tea similar to THE ONE (the whole taller than the cup slush). There’s also dessert with that dry ice effect.
Service – 6/10 – We asked for utensils and he came back with ONE set. There’s two of us. Enough said. Long wait to get attention from a staff for water or the bill.
Taste – 7.5/10 – Most things were good. They’re not amazing to live up the hype.
Atmosphere – 7/10 – loud and there’s a huge tv screen for sports and other popular events showing on the tv that time and day…
Reasonably Priced – 5/10 – definitely not worth the price for quite a lot of these dishes – especially the dim sum .. double the price lol.
Let’s just say I wouldn’t come back here again. Not worth it.

Went here for a buddy’s birthday and was pretty excited. I enjoy these type of restaurants where they welcome you beyond the average.
Jumbo Shrimp with Spicy Mayo
Variety – 8/10 – There’s a lot of different tapas that you can get. fried. seared. raw. cooked. soups. noodles. Majority of the options are more appetizers in my opinion – or sharing dishes.
Service – 7/10 – It was really busy, but even so, maybe they should hire more staff for the weekends… The service was slow but the staff was friendly… so .. I guess it somewhat balances?
Taste – 8.5/10 – everything was really tasty & flavorful – even the semi-raw stuff was good (even though I don’t like raw…)
Atmosphere – 7/10 – it’s loud so everyone kind of speaks over each other. The area we were sitting at is a little cramped because we were a large party with tables lined up. the staff is always shouting things because that’s the style of their restaurant.
Reasonably Priced – 6/10 – definitely not worth your bang for the buck. the portions are PUNY. They need to reconsider what a “large” is because the portions they are giving that is considered a large is like a small… insane.
Overall, I wouldn’t come here again unless I have to (for large birthday gatherings).

I don’t think I ever had pork soup dumplings before… shocker, i know. I was told this place had the best XLB (XIAO LONG BAO – pork soup dumplings in Cantonese(?)).
Variety – 8/10 – There were many pages of food choices – almost too much…. (which makes it hard to choose). But on the other hand, a lot of variety is good in case you are craving one thing or another.
Service – 5/10 – It takes so long just to get a waitress to notice you, to come over and help you, to serve you. Most of them are literally just standing at the counter chitchatting. They seem reluctant when a hand goes up (asking for help). I asked for water with ice and they came back with room temperature water.
Taste – 7/10 – The XLB was good. IT was my first time eating it. There was plenty of juice to explode.
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – Some things are priced right. Others are expensive. I guess this would depend on the value you put on the food there to determine whether or not it is worth the money.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t come to THIS location again and would try the Burnaby one next time.
