A very rewarding treat after biking the seawall. We were a little concerned that it would be sold out by the time I got back, but luckily there were still a lot of the original flavor left (but only 2 matcha ones left)!
Variety – 7/10 – You can have dessert, soups + salads, breakfast, power bowls, paninis, meat & cheese platter, pastas, pizzas, and desserts/pastries.
Service – n/a – order and take your things and find an empty table
Taste – 7/10 – the sugar buns were pretty good except it had A LOT of cream. Possibly too much cream. It was really overwhelming after a few bites.
Atmosphere n/a –
Reasonably Priced – 5/10 – everything is really expensive here except for some pastries and i guess pizza is normal … but the breakfast, bowls, paninis, salumi + formaggi etc are over the top!
Overall, I wouldn’t come here again or dine here. If I did come here again, it’s probably because I wanted a sugar bun – but that won’t be for awhile…
Even though it’s ‘Burnaby’, I would consider it Vancouver. Super cute and small but can get packed very quickly.
Variety – 7/10 – They have sandwiches, 1 burger, toast, oatmeal, salads, benny, and chicken & waffle. Their menu only has Breakfast, Lunch, Brunch, and Drinks and they close at 3 so you best believe everyone would be coming here at roughly the same time.
Service – n/a – Order and sit down. Then they bring it to you. You are expected to get your own cutlery or other condiments from the ‘help yourself bar’.
Taste – 9/10 – I thought it was pretty good. But most of the dishes we got, the taste started to get repetitive and I think I was unable to finish mine completely.
Atmosphere – n/a – other than the fact that it is really cramped in there.
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – It is pretty expensive if you want the more interesting dishes. The plain jane dishes are decently priced.
Overall, I wouldn’t come here again. It’s too hyped/crowded. I would just go closer to home like West Village Cafe.
Modern Japanese Cuisine. It’s unfortunate to hear that this location is closing down sometime this month… 😦
Variety – 8/19 – A lot of things you could get! Rice & Noodles, limited Tacos, Sushi, Salads, Sashimi, cold Tapas, hot Tapas,
Service – 8/10 – The servers were friendly and quick. Everyone looked nice – literally.
Taste – 9/10 – Majority of the things we ordered were quite delicious!
Atmosphere – 8/10 – ambiance is nice there – probably because of the view of the water.
Reasonably Priced – 8/10 – I think it’s reasonably priced especially during happy hour! You can try and share many things during happy hour 🙂
Overall, I would come there again but they’re closing down this location so I probably wouldn’t make my way to their Yaletown location unless I was already in the area.
Suga Suga how you get so fly~
Ha. Ha. Ha. An interesting name for an interesting dessert place. Interior is super cute but quite small. The walk to the bathroom is quite aesthetically pleasing.
Variety – 9/10 – they got drinks (like bubble tea) in a fancy glass. crepe cakes. shaved iced. and probably other desserts that I wasn’t too excited about (so i forgot).
Service – n/a – you order and then you sit down and then they bring it to you. very little service required… Don’t get me wrong. They are friendly, but I can’t necessarily rate their service when there’s limits to their
Taste – 7.75/10 – The crepe cake was really good. I think I like it better than Estea Cafe. The Shaved Iced (Mango) was huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge! Was not expecting that. However, I prefer snowy village better for this. As for the mango drink, you could not mess that up (so it was delicious)
Atmosphere – n/a – quiet-ish, super small with limited seats. It seems like a place that people study in at night … super cute inside as mentioned above.
Reasonably Priced – 7.75/10 – decent price for the amount you get. Not over the top expensive. Still something that you can justify for.
Overall, I would come here again even though it’s about a 30 minute drive. It’s just worth it. Highly recommend.. 🙂
I kept seeing this on Instagram and finally decided to make the trip. Even at 1:30 PM/2:00 PM, it was still packed and we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table.
Variety – 9/10 – You can have more than just your typical Vietnamese dishes. Besides the normal Rice, Pho or Noodle dishes, you can have other dishes like Banh Bot Loc and their specialty noodle dish. There’s just a lot of different authentic Vietnamese dishes other than just Pho and Bun (Noodles).
Service – 8/10 – We were greeted right away. They were friendly and tried to be as quick as they could despite it being really busy.
Taste – 10/10 – Super flavorful (but not overpowering) and one of the best Bun Bo Hue’s that I’ve had. My sister had this yellow noodle (that was their specialty) and she actually finished the dish (to the best of her ability). My boyfriend had a chicken and rice dish that was marinated very well and the chicken was very tender and moist. He said it was the best chicken and rice plate ever.
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 8/10 – For the quality that you get, it was definitely worth the price. It’s not overly expensive but it is not dirt cheap either.
Overall, I would definitely come here again if I was closer to the area. Super delicious but the distance is not worth it for me.
Been here a couple times already but haven’t really made a review post for it yet so here it is! The first few times I came here, it wasn’t that great. Decided to come here again with friends and it was better than the first two experiences.
Variety – 8/10 – There’s a lot of things you can have – rice, noodles, soup with a variety of “toppings”. There’s also Thai specialty drinks and dessert.
Service – 9/10 – They were quick and food came out fast. Maybe because we were one of the only ones (cause it was still kind of early). It started to pick up half way through our dinner. Regardless, still friendly and quick.
Taste – 8.5/10 – we got the sharing platter (ate it before I got to take a pic), Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, and Green Curry w/ Rice.
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – It wasn’t over the top but Pink Elephant has better deals and combos that you can get. This place didn’t offer deals like that so it was meh.
Overall, this place isn’t my go-to Thai place in Surrey.
We wanted to try something new but we didn’t want to go too far away from home.. M googled and have heard of this Sushi place and it had good reviews for their aburi… (don’t get too excited).
Variety – 8/10 – They have a fair variety. It’s not just all sushi. You can also get don bowls and stuff other rice/noodle dishes.
Service – 6/10 – not the greatest service and it wasn’t even crowded. It took time to get our order in place
Taste – 7/10 – TBH, I prefer Sushi California’s aburi better. I have yet to try to Miku aburi but this one just doesn’t cut it … It’s very popular but maybe I was expecting too much because of the hype and ended up getting disappointed? Who knows. You can always go and try it since it’s not far and doesn’t cost much!
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 8/10 – I guess it is considering you can afford the aburi here.. LOL
Overall, I would probably come here one more time but not if it’s out of my way.
