A cute modern Italian restaurant in the corner of Columbia and 8th. Literally across from the New West station.
Variety – 8/10 – There’s quite a variety that you can get here. Your typical Italian tapas like meatballs or Arancini (and more) then you got your Pizza/Pasta and main dishes like Steak/Lamb etc.
Service – 10/10 – Super nice staff – waiters/waitresses and the door people … They were funny and conversational. They were quick and did not move like a Sloth (A++++).
Taste – 9/10 – It was quite delicious / cheesy / creamy. Majority of the dishes were soft (except pizza ofc) and it just melts in your mouth. There were herbs to complement the taste but I hated the giant crispy Basil leaves so I picked it out… Even without the herbs, I thought it still very Italian-tasting.
Atmosphere – 9/10 – The ambiance was nice. The interior design was modern, semi-classy, but always cozy in a way? The atmosphere just seemed like everyone was super happy and actually liked their jobs? Or maybe the staff just gets along with each other very well?
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – It is a little expensive, but it was totally worth it for Happy Hour. We were able to grab a lot of dishes on the Happy Hour menu to share and I think we were all pretty full off those dishes!
Overall, I would definitely come here again!
A very rewarding treat after biking the seawall. We were a little concerned that it would be sold out by the time I got back, but luckily there were still a lot of the original flavor left (but only 2 matcha ones left)!
Variety – 7/10 – You can have dessert, soups + salads, breakfast, power bowls, paninis, meat & cheese platter, pastas, pizzas, and desserts/pastries.
Service – n/a – order and take your things and find an empty table
Taste – 7/10 – the sugar buns were pretty good except it had A LOT of cream. Possibly too much cream. It was really overwhelming after a few bites.
Atmosphere n/a –
Reasonably Priced – 5/10 – everything is really expensive here except for some pastries and i guess pizza is normal … but the breakfast, bowls, paninis, salumi + formaggi etc are over the top!
Overall, I wouldn’t come here again or dine here. If I did come here again, it’s probably because I wanted a sugar bun – but that won’t be for awhile…
Even though it’s ‘Burnaby’, I would consider it Vancouver. Super cute and small but can get packed very quickly.
Variety – 7/10 – They have sandwiches, 1 burger, toast, oatmeal, salads, benny, and chicken & waffle. Their menu only has Breakfast, Lunch, Brunch, and Drinks and they close at 3 so you best believe everyone would be coming here at roughly the same time.
Service – n/a – Order and sit down. Then they bring it to you. You are expected to get your own cutlery or other condiments from the ‘help yourself bar’.
Taste – 9/10 – I thought it was pretty good. But most of the dishes we got, the taste started to get repetitive and I think I was unable to finish mine completely.
Atmosphere – n/a – other than the fact that it is really cramped in there.
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – It is pretty expensive if you want the more interesting dishes. The plain jane dishes are decently priced.
Overall, I wouldn’t come here again. It’s too hyped/crowded. I would just go closer to home like West Village Cafe.
I kept seeing this on Instagram and finally decided to make the trip. Even at 1:30 PM/2:00 PM, it was still packed and we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table.
Variety – 9/10 – You can have more than just your typical Vietnamese dishes. Besides the normal Rice, Pho or Noodle dishes, you can have other dishes like Banh Bot Loc and their specialty noodle dish. There’s just a lot of different authentic Vietnamese dishes other than just Pho and Bun (Noodles).
Service – 8/10 – We were greeted right away. They were friendly and tried to be as quick as they could despite it being really busy.
Taste – 10/10 – Super flavorful (but not overpowering) and one of the best Bun Bo Hue’s that I’ve had. My sister had this yellow noodle (that was their specialty) and she actually finished the dish (to the best of her ability). My boyfriend had a chicken and rice dish that was marinated very well and the chicken was very tender and moist. He said it was the best chicken and rice plate ever.
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 8/10 – For the quality that you get, it was definitely worth the price. It’s not overly expensive but it is not dirt cheap either.
Overall, I would definitely come here again if I was closer to the area. Super delicious but the distance is not worth it for me.
Been here a couple times already but haven’t really made a review post for it yet so here it is! The first few times I came here, it wasn’t that great. Decided to come here again with friends and it was better than the first two experiences.
Variety – 8/10 – There’s a lot of things you can have – rice, noodles, soup with a variety of “toppings”. There’s also Thai specialty drinks and dessert.
Service – 9/10 – They were quick and food came out fast. Maybe because we were one of the only ones (cause it was still kind of early). It started to pick up half way through our dinner. Regardless, still friendly and quick.
Taste – 8.5/10 – we got the sharing platter (ate it before I got to take a pic), Tom Yum Soup, Pad Thai, and Green Curry w/ Rice.
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – It wasn’t over the top but Pink Elephant has better deals and combos that you can get. This place didn’t offer deals like that so it was meh.
Overall, this place isn’t my go-to Thai place in Surrey.
Update: Highly recommend making reservations because it can fill it very fast and they have limited seating to give you the ultimate experience 🙂
I’ve been here before right after getting picked up from the airport only because I heard about it from @yvrnomswidlindu…then I went here again with my friends but with a groupon.
Variety – 9/10 – WOW!!!! I feel like you get so much with the Groupon or my appetite is just really small… but we still had meats and some vegetables leftover…
Service – 9/10 – Our servers were really nice and friendly and patient. Plus she took more than one photo and automatically offered to take a photo for us without us even asking…. They were quick and tried to be there for us even when it was really busy.
Taste – 9.5/10 – the base that you get with the groupon was okay. My friend and I who sat on the same side got one miso and one tom yum base (paid extra $3). We decided that miso would be too ‘bland’ so we mixed the two together and it ended up being really spicy…….. oops LOL. Everything else was really delicious and I drank 1.5 cups of the milk tea (because it was unlimited). The dessert was also really good (it’s jello and not tofu dessert woooooo!)
Atmosphere – 8/10 – it was dim and if you are a group of 4 or prefer the tables, there are only 2 (i think). Everyone else has to sit up at the oval bar which is really cool/nice i guess. You face the servers inside who help/serve you in and out etc.
Reasonably Priced – 9/10 – for 17.50 each ($45 groupon but discount code bringing it down to $35 which is $17.50 per person plus tax) it is DEFINITELY worth the buck!!!!! Highly recommend you try this place especially with the groupon. Make sure you get the dinner one if you’re going for dinner (because there’s also lunch time).
Overall, I would definitely be coming here again!~

I’ve heard of this place before so when we saw it after going to that Conservatory at QE Park, I just had to check it out.
Variety – 7/10 – From what I can remember, you can get a few different flavors of cheesecake and bingsoo. I think there were macarons available but meh, not my thing.
Service – n/a – you order then sit and then they bring it to your table. Not much “service” needed.
Taste – 6.5/10 – The cheesecake was SUPER strong in the cheese flavor and the matcha. The Bingsoo wasn’t that great. It was a tad syrup-ie and the ice wasn’t as soft as Snowy Village. It was just presented very aesthetically and you get cheesecake on top of it (but I hate cheesecake).
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 8/10 – it was roughly 6.50-8$ for the cheesecake and double digits for the bingsoo. That is average pricing to me.
Overall, wouldn’t make the trip here again. Side note: it was quite packed on a weekend night so maybe I am ordering the wrong things since lots of people come here…
