A cute modern Italian restaurant in the corner of Columbia and 8th. Literally across from the New West station.
Variety – 8/10 – There’s quite a variety that you can get here. Your typical Italian tapas like meatballs or Arancini (and more) then you got your Pizza/Pasta and main dishes like Steak/Lamb etc.
Service – 10/10 – Super nice staff – waiters/waitresses and the door people … They were funny and conversational. They were quick and did not move like a Sloth (A++++).
Taste – 9/10 – It was quite delicious / cheesy / creamy. Majority of the dishes were soft (except pizza ofc) and it just melts in your mouth. There were herbs to complement the taste but I hated the giant crispy Basil leaves so I picked it out… Even without the herbs, I thought it still very Italian-tasting.
Atmosphere – 9/10 – The ambiance was nice. The interior design was modern, semi-classy, but always cozy in a way? The atmosphere just seemed like everyone was super happy and actually liked their jobs? Or maybe the staff just gets along with each other very well?
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – It is a little expensive, but it was totally worth it for Happy Hour. We were able to grab a lot of dishes on the Happy Hour menu to share and I think we were all pretty full off those dishes!
Went here for a friend’s birthday. Saw someone else go here for an occasion and saw that they have this cute painted wall outside the restaurant… You know what they say .. do it for the ‘gram.
Dungeness Crab Taglierini
8oz Kettle Ridge Hanger Steak
Wild Mushroom Risotto
Variety – 8/10 – Pasta, Risotto, Salads, Appetizers, Duck, Seafood, Steak; I guess that is a good variety. We got a bit of everything and shared among the 3 of us so that we weren’t stuck with one dish.
Service – 7/10 – they wanted to charge us $3.50 PER person just to cut OUR cake.. We could do that ourselves thank you very much… =\ They were kinda slow when we needed them but the female server was super nice to us. I think the owner was there, he wasn’t very talkative.
Taste – 9/10 – everything that we got tasted very good. The Risotto turned out to be my favourite and i wasn’t excited for it either.. The lemony pasta was my 2nd. The steak was my least favourite next to the “supposedly alcoholic drink”.
Atmosphere – 8/10 – really bright by the windows or you can be in the dim dining room. The furniture was cute.
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – Kind of expensive but you should expect it when you’re in downtown/yaletown etc. I don’t think the “steak” was worth it. The risotto was worth the price though. The pasta – not really. The drinks was DEFINITELY not worth $13. There was not an ounce of alcohol. I was drinking carbonated JUICE with bits of watermelon.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t come to this restaurant again. Maybe only to take photos outside their wall..
One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s very authentic and the exterior and interior of the restaurant was very nice. It made me excited to be here…
Tagliatelle alla Bolognese
Spaghetti al Limone
Variety – 9/10 – So many things to choose from in my opinion. A lot of different pastas. Pizzas. Cheese and Meat Boards. If it’s Italian, they probably have it.
Service – 6.5/10 – It was quite slow to get our food ordered and to be seated and to get our bill. The food came out faster than the time waiting to order/be seated. Maybe because it was busy. If that was the case, maybe they should have had more staff in that section…
Taste – 9/10 – The pasta was delicious! I had the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese and my friend had the Spaghetti al Limone. Both of them were delicious. At first, I was quite skeptical about the Spaghetti al Limone.. but after trying it, the taste was phenomenal!!!!!
Atmosphere – 9/10 – The interior and exterior is super nice – not like luxury nice, but it gives you the Italian feel to it…. Everyone’s friendly. We’re all seated close together so it’s a bit loud..
Reasonably Priced – 8/10 – For the taste and portion, I would say it is quite reasonably priced.
I would definitely come here again to have the Spaghetti al Limone all to myself…
Went to the airport super early so I decided to have a late lunch/early dinner and eat the remaining of whatever I eat on the plane. After walking back and forth, I decided to eat at Boccone Trattoria.
Variety: 7/10 – I think their specialty is Pizza and Pasta ..
Service: 7.5/10 – The lady was nice. She let me be and didn’t come frequent. It did take a little longer than usual just to finally order or get my bill.
Taste: 7.5/10 – The pasta I got was alright .. when it cools off, it doesn’t taste good anymore…
Atmosphere: 7/10 – Inside an airport, there’s not much of a feel/atmosphere except you’re leaving to your next destination …
Reasonably Priced: 7/10 – it was a little pricey .. $3 just for a small glass of pop. Since you’re in the airport .. what do ya expect …
