I’ve been here for take-out a few times – for Dim Sum and for the Noodles. I would say their specialty is the different style of noodles (ramen, etc.. LOL). @yvrnomswidlindu won a 3-course meal (The Christmas Special) for two so she took me instead of her (picky) boyfriend 🙂
Variety – 8/10 – There’s dim sum options, lots of noodles (dry or soup base or fried), and meat options. I guess it is to your discretion what you think would be good at a SHANG NOODLEHOUSE
Service – 9.5/10 – The staff is very friendly and understanding. They noticed we didn’t really touch our Lobster Bisque so they asked us if anything is wrong with it. I was too shy to say anything so I said it’s fine, but L was quick to speak her mind. As a result, we got it replaced with the other appetizer option, Smoked Salmon and Spring Roll. The oddest combination but meh.
Taste – 7/10 – The best dish was the XLB, then the two dessert (Milk Tea Pudding with Pearls and Mango Pudding), then the coffee, then the Squid Ink Noodles with Steak + the other soup base noodles, then the Lobster Bisque and Spring Roll w/ Smoked Salmon tied for last – l o l. I guess appetizers aren’t there forté? But no seriously, The Milk Tea Pudding with Pearls was BOMB DOT COM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MUST TRY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – 7/10 – I would say it’s very expensive for dim sum. The soup and/or noodles are okay priced – you get your bang for the buck for this one. Since this was free (thank goodness), I can’t really say much about the pricing…
Overall, I wouldn’t come here again for the Christmas special, but I would still come back for the soup and noodles stuff (Thai Style Noodles yum yum!)
