We were actually supposed to go to a restaurant in Hamilton but it was closed. Maybe everything happens for a reason because I really enjoyed this place.
Varity – 9/10 – a lot of choices here. There are items on the a la carte menu like sushi and appetizers. There are a lot of choices for your meat and the style of your rice/noodles as well.
Service – 8/10 – would’ve been a higher score because of the entertainment that came with the dinner (our chef was funny and fun), but then our server failed to inform me that they ran out of “the things to make my sushi” so I had to ask where’s my sushi after we were almost done our main. Shake my head.
Taste – 9/10 – Omgosh, it was delicious. The sauce that came with it was soooooooo good! I want to know what it was but the server spoke too quiet/too fast/too much accent. At first, I thought the sauces were going to be gross just because it looked like runny peanut butter… LOL
Atmosphere – 9/10 – super fun! Super hot and entertaining! Note to self: learn how to catch things with my mouth so the next time the chef throws a zucchini at me, I can catch it.
Reasonably Priced – 9/10 – for the experience and the amount of food we got, I would say we got the bang for the buck!!!! Definitely worth it.
Overall, I would come here again!! A must try!!!!!!
Let’s be real here. I only wanted to go here because it was “Drake’s Restaurant” or affiliated with him one way or another. Luckily, I was able to convince M to come with me on a Tuesday
Varity – 9/10 – the menu is really random in my opinion. You can have pasta, lots of appetizers, lots of finger food choices. Can’t remember what else, but it’s a very loung-ie feeling atmosphere; thus, the selection available was catered towards that.
Service – 10/10 – Of course, the staff was trained very well. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. They were quick to take our order and was quick with the food.
Taste – 9.5/10 – We had the Pappardelle pasta, Lee’s Cheese Burger Spring Roll, and the Tuna Tartare. I personally like Cactus Clubs’ Tuna Tartare better. The pasta was delicious – cooked to the perfection of ‘al dente’. The truffle oil and mushrooms was delicious! At first I was a bit skeptical about the Cheese Burger Spring Roll. Sounds really weird doesn’t it? Well, It came as a spring roll with a lettuce underneath the roll. Inside was the meat and cheese. On top of the spring roll, they doused it in some sort of chipotle sauce. This was spicy for me (shocker – not) so it took some time for me to finish it. Regardless it was delicious.
Atmosphere – 9.5/10 – A little too dim for my liking but I guess that’s the feel/vibe they were going for. Definitely love the waves neon lights at the entrance of the bathroom downstairs. I also think they purposely make it dark af so that if there were ‘celebrities’, you couldn’t really see/be 100%. That was me the whole time. “Omg is that ____” “nah can’t be” “actually it’s too dark I can’t even see properly”.
Reasonably Priced: – 8/10 – it wasn’t as experience as I thought it would be. When you’re sharing with others, I can definitely justify the price since you get to try many things. If you weren’t sharing then I don’t think you can fully experience the place without breaking into your wallet a bit.
Overall, I would definitely come here again but on a thurs-sat (because apparently that’s when it’s really bumping and more chances of bumping into celebs (cough drake cough).
It took me almost one two hours to get to this place from Mississauga. I was starving so everything tasted really good to me. Let’s keep that in mind as I rate the categories.
Variety – 8/10 – From what I can remember, there was a lot to choose from. The fancy stuff. The basic Chinese dishes. Almost everything is available here. .. just almost.
Service – 6.5/10 – I feel like you have to be Asian AND be able to speak their language if you want good service from them.
Taste – 9/10 – The fried rice was amazing! You could really taste the lobster. They put certain spices and flavors that were foreign to me as a BC resident who only ate at Chinese Restaurants in BC… Even the lobster taste different.. It was deep fried in some sort of powder…
Atmosphere – n/a
Reasonably Priced – $$$$ – I want to say it’s pricey since it was over $300 for just four of us … but then again we ordered quite a lot and had a lot leftover…
Overall, I wouldn’t come here on my own. I only came here because of my relatives and it is overpriced for students fresh out of University.
Bumping place to eat at. Atmosphere is lively. Music is good. Staff is friendly.
“V-STAR” – Rating:
Variety – 9/10 – A lot of things to choose from. Tapas. Full Entrees. What’s nice about this place is that you can order a lot of dishes to share so that you are able to try more than just one dish..
Service – 9/10 – quick. friendly. nothing to complain about.
Taste – 9.5/10 – everything was sooooooooooo goood!! again, i don’t like raw food but i had the sashmi salad … and wow. It was delicious. Probably because the sauce covered that raw texture/taste/feeling.
Atmosphere – 9/10 – lively. bumping music. not too bright so your flaws aren’t exposed.
Reasonably Priced – $$$ – there are 4 of us and we ordered a lot of dishes including oysters. drinks were cheap too and we got a jug. Only paid $20 per person!!
Would highly recommend and definitely come here again.
This place is similar to the whole poke experience in Downtown Vancouver – just another franchise.
Variety: 6.5/10 – you can choose 4 pre-made bowls/rolls or you can create your own and pay extra for the better ingredients. There’s a limit to each category that you can have in your bowl/roll if that makes sense ..
Service: N/A – you just order at the counter and you follow the line to have someone add ingredients into your bowl/roll…..
Taste: 7/10 – if you’re creating your own bowl/roll, it will be a hit or miss with the many different ingredients that you’re slapping onto your order.. the protein tastes fresh .. the sauce is alright .. there is nothing amazing about this place in terms of the taste.
Atmosphere: 6/10 – super duper small. there’s only 4 seats available and they are usually occupied. you can’t really eat in this place and should always expect to go elsewhere and eat this ..
Reasonably Priced: 6.5/10 – pricey because of the salmon/protein I guess. You get a lot but it is a lot of inexpensive ingredients.
Overall, this was a one time experience and I would not go out of my way again to come here.
Went to the airport super early so I decided to have a late lunch/early dinner and eat the remaining of whatever I eat on the plane. After walking back and forth, I decided to eat at Boccone Trattoria.
Variety: 7/10 – I think their specialty is Pizza and Pasta ..
Service: 7.5/10 – The lady was nice. She let me be and didn’t come frequent. It did take a little longer than usual just to finally order or get my bill.
Taste: 7.5/10 – The pasta I got was alright .. when it cools off, it doesn’t taste good anymore…
Atmosphere: 7/10 – Inside an airport, there’s not much of a feel/atmosphere except you’re leaving to your next destination …
Reasonably Priced: 7/10 – it was a little pricey .. $3 just for a small glass of pop. Since you’re in the airport .. what do ya expect …
